Even after starting a family, Jess and Kris still can’t quite believe that they met someone that shares their same obsession with building and design. Together, they make the ultimate new home building team.
In essence, they are a Construction Coordinator, Client Liaison, Prestart Consultant, Contract Administrator, Sales Consultant, Executive Assistant, Sales Trainer, Carpenter, Site Manager, Construction Company and Building Supply Company all rolled into one (or two). Jess and Kris are the brains behind The Home Chaperone, and between them, there aren’t too many facets of the industry they haven’t been involved in across their careers.
This is Jess.
A self-confessed crazy dog lady that believes in the healing powers of good wine & cheese, Jess heads up the team at The Home Chaperone that helps thousands of people get the most from their Builder so they can live their best lives at home.
Jess founded The Home Chaperone (previously @home.hacks.with.jess.and.max) from her humble iPhone back in 2019 as a way to shamelessly post hundreds of photos of her golden retriever, Max, while on a personal mission to prove that there are people in the building industry that genuinely care and are willing to help. Jess landed her first gig in the industry in 2010 and has never looked back. She’s done more roles that you can poke a stick at so she has a unique insight into all parts of the home building process.
When she isn’t obsessing over all things building related, you can find her trying to shake her little girl off her leg, probably while constructing an epic platter and sipping on a strong espresso (or espresso martini, depending on the time of day).
This is Kris.
Born and raised in Perth, Kris can’t quite believe he wriggled himself into a job that he can do on the road from the comfort of his caravan.
Although he won’t admit it, he is a creature of habit and loves the simple comforts of home. His wildest dream is to travel around Australia with his family, just like his folks did when he was a little tacker himself.
He lives for BBQs with an ice cold beer in-hand, footy and finds chocolate, in all its forms, simply irresistible.
Originally a chippy by trade and having built and renovated hundreds of homes for well over a decade, Kris is the definition of a jack of all trades. He heads up the construction and project management team at The Home Chaperone.
When he’s not working or watching caravanning shows on Youtube, you can probably find him in the line at Bunnings waiting for a sausage sizzle.
